“That’s Show Biz…”

For the last few months, we’ve been putting the pieces together for our upcoming play, “That’s Show Biz, Baby!” that we are producing with the Brazen Giant Ensemble.

Anyone who has ever been involved in show biz knows 2 things for sure – (1) it costs money & (2) things are going to change between the beginning and end of production.

To that end, as far as #1 goes, we are having a Go Fund Me to raise money for some of the costs involved with the production of “That’s Show Biz Baby!” You can donate HERE.

Costs that we are trying to cover include: Rehearsal Spaces (can’t have a play without rehearsals and you can’t have a rehearsal without a rehearsal space), Insurance (needed as part of our contract with AEA), Printing (we have to print the posters and programs), Costumes/Props (its a minimal show but we do have to get a few things), and, if we raise enough, stipends for the actors (we’d like to provide AT LEAST travel stipends for our incredible cast & crew). So, yeah. That all will add up… but YOU CAN HELP! And if you donate before we have to print the programs (sometime in April) your name(s) will be listed in the Special Thanks section of the program.

#2. We are, sadly, losing two members from our cast. The incredible Melissa Skirboll & Bill Sorvino have both had to bow out of the show… On the plus side, this means that Cary Hite will now be playing the role of Big Pauly all three shows, and Justine Harrison-Daube will be stepping up to play the larger role of Agatha! The role that Justine was previously going to play is TBD, but as soon as we know we will announce on our social media pages.

And that’s all for now. GIVE if you can. SHARE the link with your friends and family on social media and beyond if you can. Every little bit helps.

Narrow Bridge Films Day 2023

Back in 2018, the Mayor of our hometown of Bayonne, NJ issued the following proclamation that was given to us at the Golden Door International Film Festival.

Since then, we have honored every year by releasing something new to the world… be it a new trailer, a short, whatever. This year will be no different.

And that is why I am excited to announce that on this Narrow Bridge Films Day, we will be releasing our most recent, award winning short film ROLL CHECK to the world. Prior to this, the only way to watch Roll Check was to catch it at one of the festivals that it was playing at.

We hope that you enjoy! Happy Narrow Bridge Films Day to one and all!

DVD’s

Anyone that knows me knows that I love physical media. As great as streaming can be, it doesn’t hold the candle to actually owning a piece of media… a DVD, a CD, a book. When we first set out to make movies, I really wanted to have more movies with me in them on my DVD shelf… and I did that.

We are currently looking to get distribution for “Tales from the Narrow Bridge,” but before we do, we had to create and release our DVD perk for those people who backed us on Indiegogo. We also created enough for cast & crew… and a handful extra to give to anyone who may want to buy one.

If you’re interested in buying a copy of “Tales” on DVD, it will be $25 (plus $5 shipping if you need it shipped). Payment can be made on Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal. Email us at NarrowBridgeFilms@Yahoo.com, or message us on social media, for more information.

Right before Amazon decided to give a huge middle finger to indie filmmakers like us who relied on Media on Demand for self-distribution, we bought a number of copies of our movies to have on hand, so we also have an extremely limited number of BLAMING GEORGE ROMERO, RED SCARE, & YELLOW SCARE on DVD. BGR & Red Scare are $10 each. Yellow Scare is $15. We are working on getting some additional copies of CABIN OF ERRORS on DVD, but we do not have any extras on hand at the moment.

If you’re interested, let us know!

Where to Watch (2023)

We are often asked how to view our movies. As we are about to enter a busy festival season, I thought that I would share where you can watch. Some you can watch right here, and some you need to stream from another site (like Tubi) or rent on another site (like Amazon).

FEATURE FILMS

CABIN OF ERRORS – Watch on Tubi, but you can watch the trailer (from when it was called “Summer Cabin”) here.

YELLOW SCARE – Rent on Amazon or Vimeo, but you can watch the trailer here.

TALES FROM THE NARROW BRIDGE – Still on the festival circuit (follow us on social media to see where and when it is playing next), but you can watch the trailer here.

SHORT FILMS

GIRL IN THE BASEMENT – Originally intended to be included in TALES FROM THE NARROW BRIDGE, this short is still in post-production and will be finished & released (hopefully) soon.

SWITCHEROO – Originally intended to be included in TALES FROM THE NARROW BRIDGE, this short is still in post-production and will be finished & released (hopefully) soon.

Upcoming Summer 2023 Festivals

We’ve got some fun festivals coming up. As always, getting people to attend festival screenings is always a challenge- especially in places away from home. So, if you’re in the area or know people who might be, come on out and/or tell people about the screenings!

JERSEY CITY! On Friday, June 23, ROLL CHECK is making its NJ debut at the Golden Door IFF. It’s part of the “adult comedy” block at 7pm at Art House Productions.

JERSEY CITY AGAIN! On Wednesday, June 28th at 6:30pm, TALES FROM THE NARROW BRIDGE will be having its FINAL NJ festival screening at the Grove Film Festival at the Brightside Tavern.

FORT WORTH, TX! In July, we will be making our (hopefully triumphant) return to the Fort Worth Indie Film Showcase. TALES FROM THE NARROW BRIDGE will screen at 3:30pm on Saturday, July 15th. The screening will be at the Hilton Garden Inn Fort Worth Medical Center.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN! We have two movies playing at the Gen Con Film Festival this year. The BLAMING GEORGE ROMERO REMASTERED EDITION screens at 10:30pm on Thursday, August 3rd and ROLL CHECK screens at 11am on Saturday, August 5th as a part of the Gamer Short Film Block. Both screenings happen at the Westin across the street from the Indiana Convention Center.

Like I said, if you or someone you know is in the Jersey City, Fort Worth, or Indianapolis area- COME SEE OUR MOVIES AND TELL PEOPLE ABOUT ‘EM!

Been Awhile…

It has been awhile since we posted anything on the website (we update much more frequently on our Facebook/Instagram pages – @NarrowBridgeFilms.)

Our last post was in… Jesus… October of 2022. Well, since then, we have done a bit.

We filmed a brand new short comedy called ROLL CHECK. This one was written by Sam Platizky and Directed by Joey Mosca. It stars Sam, Isaac Platizky, Dan Gregory, Rivers Duggan, Larry Rosen, Christopher Lucas, Joey Mosca, Jayleen S. Perez, and Nicole Colon. Joey was the co-DP with Daniel Hendlowitch who was the camera operator, and Sami Saad was the assistant camera operator. Joey edited. It has already gotten some festival love.

  • It premiered at the Rhino Comedy Shorts Film Festival on April 28th where it won Best Film and Best Actor (Sam Platizky).
  • It won Best Short Comedy and Best Editing (Joey Mosca) at the May 2023 NJ Film Awards where it was also nominated for Best Actor (Sam Platizky), Best Supporting Actor (Dan Gregory), Best Director (Joey Mosca), and Best Ensemble.
  • It is an Official Selection of the Golden Door International Film Festival, which runs from June 22nd-June 24th.
  • It is an Official Selection of the Gen Con Film Festival in Indianapolis. It will screen at that festival on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11am in the Gamer Short Film Block.

Joey completed work on the Remastered edition of our first film BLAMING GEORGE ROMERO. That will premiere at the Gen Con Film Festival on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 10:30pm.

Our horror anthology TALES FROM THE NARROW BRIDGE continues it’s successful festival run. Since last we posted…

  • It won Best Film at the Northeast Film Festival back in December.
  • It won Best Adventure-Fantasy-VFX Film at the MLC Awards.
  • It won Best Horror/Science Fiction/Genre Feature Film at the Tagore Film Festival.
  • It is an Official Selection of the Horror Hotel Film Festival in Ohio and will screen on Saturday, June 10 at 2:35pm. We won 4th place horror feature and are nominated for Best Actress (Megan Hoche).
  • It is an Official Selection of the Fort Worth Indie Film Showcase in Fort Worth, TX this July. More details as we get them.

And that is pretty much that on the Narrow Bridge front.

Narrow Bridge adjacent news:

  • Isaac Platizky’s hilarious screenplay A CHANUKAH STORY is an Official Selection at the Fort Worth Indie Film Showcase.
  • Dan Gregory & Jayleen S. Perez’s short film AIR BND is also an Official Selection at the Fort Worth Indie Film Showcase.
  • Sam Platizky’s romantic comedy OFF-SCRIPT is a Quarter Finalist in the Outstanding Screenplays Feature Competition.

Orlando & More!

Next week, we will be bringing “Tales from the Narrow Bridge” to the Orlando Film Festival. Our screening dates are Friday, October 28th at 6pm and Monday, October 31st at 8pm! Both screenings are at the CMX Cinemas Plaza Cafe 12 at 155 South Orange Avenue, Orlando, FL. A one day ticket can be purchased HERE.

If you’re in the area, stop on by! If you’re not, but you know someone who is, let them know! Word of mouth is how we will get butts in seats.

In addition to that, we are also Official Selections of the Boston Horror Comedy Film Festival & the MLC Awards!

We are very grateful for these official selections and proud of our amazing cast and crew. Stay tuned for more from our festival journey!

NBF Day 2022

Happy Narrow Bridge Films Day! For those that don’t know, back in 2018 at the Golden Door International Film Festival, we were presented with certificates from the Mayor of Bayonne, NJ (NBF’s hometown) declaring September 23 to be Narrow Bridge Films Day! And so, this is our 5th year celebrating.

Every year since, we have tried to release something special on 9/23, and this year is no different.

For the first time ever on the Narrow Bridge Films’ website, you can watch FIRST and LAST REHEARSAL OF THE DANGEROUS KITTEN for free! Previously, they were only available to watch at festivals or on the IFT Network streaming platform. You can watch them on their respective pages or just below.

Also, for the first time anywhere, you can see the latest trailer for TALES FROM THE NARROW BRIDGE. We usually like to use popular music for our trailers, but this is the first one that is completely made up of music that is in the movie created by our composers Andy Kopacz and Masatora Goya.

ALSO, you can now Rent or Buy YELLOW SCARE on Vimeo on Demand HERE. Previously, Yellow Scare has only been available on the IFT Network or on Amazon.

Finally… our first film BLAMING GEORGE ROMERO. We filmed it in 2010, and released it in 2011. Unfortunately, due to a hard drive crash, we only had a low quality version of the movie. However, a few weeks ago, we found a backup that had higher quality versions saved. But that’s not all… Joey Mosca has started the process of “remastering” the movie so that, when he has finished, we will be able to release BLAMING GEORGE ROMERO: THE ULTIMATE EDITION.

It is still early days, so we do not have more information on how and when we will be releasing this version of the movie, but stay tuned to our various social media pages for updates.

And that is all for this Narrow Bridge Films Day. As always, if you enjoy what we do, please consider sharing our projects with your friends and families. Word of mouth and sharing are the best ways to help indie companies like ours.

See you at the movies!
