If you’ve been following us for any length of time, you’ll know that we’ve been attending the Golden Door IFF since its first year (2011) where Blaming George Romero was an Official Selection.
Now, was that first year perfect? By no means… it was a new festival and it was a little weird and festivals need time to get their footing… but over the years, the festival has grown and become better and better. And now it is one of our favorite festivals of all.
This year, we were honored to premiere “Archangel” during the opening night block of short films and we also had the NJ premiere of “Girl in the Basement.”

We had a great time and wound up being nominated for Best Short Film twice (Archangel and Girl in the Basement) and Best Actor in a Short (Dan Gregory).

Dan won Best Actor.

We lost Best Short, but we did go home with the Sorvino Award for Excellence in Cinema.

Bonus: Alicia Giangrisostomi won Best Actress in a Short for her amazing work in Cahill’s Lanes.

It was a great weekend… now, onto the next fest: Bergen IFF!
