Orlando!!!!

There are a few festivals that we REALLY wanted to get into. Golden Door (SEPTEMBER 20-23) was obviously one of them. The big ones (Sundance, Slamdance, etc) are long shots, but they’re up there. And then there are the ones that may not be AS big as those, but are still big.

Orlando Film Festival is one of those. Honestly, I was surprised we got in! But get in we did, and we are super hyped to be heading to Orlando this October for the festival.

“Yellow Scare” plays not once but TWICE at the festival. Saturday, 10/20 at 11:45am & Sunday, 10/21 at 6:45pm.

If you, or someone you know, is in the area, send them our way. Tickets are available here: https://orlandofilmfest.com/buy-tickets/

Come hang with us at this awesome event!

Support Indie Film

support

If you are reading this, then you have probably supported Narrow Bridge Films in the past… Whether that support has come in donating to our crowdfunding campaigns, or watching our projects, or just being an all-around supportive person, you have helped us continue to do what we love. So, on behalf of every member of NBF past and present, I thank you.

Here are a few ways you can continue to support our little indie company that won’t cost a dime.

WATCH: Did you know that nearly all of our projects are available for you to watch FOR FREE on this site? It’s true. The only projects that aren’t are “Cabin of Errors,” “Yellow Scare,” and our projects that are in post-production. And if you have Amazon Prime, you can watch “Cabin” there for FREE! So, please, watch! The more views we have on these projects, the better we look, and the better we look the more opportunities we can get. So, when you have a chance, watch our shorts. Watch our first two features. And watch our 12 part webseries.

REVIEW: This is most important for “Cabin” at the moment. Write a review on Amazon AND rate it on IMDB. Watches and reviews are THE backbone of an indie film being seen by larger numbers. It doesn’t have to be a long review, but it helps us.

FOLLOW: For better or worse, social media is a huge factor when it comes to indie films now. NBF has a FACEBOOK PAGE and an INSTAGRAM PAGE.  Follow both of those. The higher our follower numbers, the more popular we look, and the more popular we look… Well, you get the idea.

SHARE: YOU support us, but you may have friends/family who have no idea what the hell a Narrow Bridge Film is! So, share this website, share our projects, share our Facebook page, our Instagram page, etc. Help us reach a larger audience. In most cases, all it takes is clicking “Share” on facebook, or a quick copy & paste of a link. A few seconds of your time is worth so much to us.

ATTEND: This one costs a little money… We have events from time to time. We have had sold out screenings for our feature films in “Preview Test Screenings” for all of our features. And our films are also screened at festivals across the world. So, if you see one of our films in your area, come on out and watch with us! Up next, we have the GOLDEN DOOR INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL. Our short horror film, “Click Send” is playing (Date/Time TBA) and our 4th feature “Yellow Scare” is playing as part of a red carpet event starting at 5pm on Saturday, September 22nd. Not only will a large audience make us look and feel good, but it is going to be a great event and it will be great to meet our fans/supporters. So, come on out to those screenings. Walk the red carpet with us, snap some photos, and have a great time.

So, there you have it. We love making indie films, but don’t be fooled into thinking it is all glamorous. We need your help to be successful. And with just a little support from you, you are helping a whole group filled with artists of all types who are immensely thankful to you.

Oh, and if you happen to be loaded, we could use that kind of help too. Making movies is expensive 😛

The Golden Door

Our first film, Blaming George Romero, got into two festivals. One of those festivals was The Golden Door International Film Festival, which was in its first year.

It was a great fit. We’re (mostly) from Bayonne and here was a festival in Jersey City.

It was a good time and a good experience, so we entered it again when it was time for “Red Scare” the following year, and much to our surprise we screened at the historic Loews Theatre in Journal Square, the primary location for the festival. It was incredible to screen our movie in an actual movie palace.

After that, we were fortunate enough to screen both “Devil You Know” AND “Cabin of Errors” at the Loews.

The Golden Door IFF has been a great festival for us. Of all the festivals we’ve been to, it is our favorite, and we are so excited to be returning to the festival with not one, but TWO films. Click Send (time and location TBA) and “Yellow Scare!”

“Yellow Scare” has the tremendous honor of being a part of a RED CARPET EVENT on Saturday, September 22 starting at 5pm at the Loews. We will be preceded by a new short starring scream queen Brooke Lewis!

We hope to see as many NBF cast and crew members and fans as we can at this amazing event. What better way to experience “Yellow Scare” than with a red carpet event in a genuine movie palace?

Back from Gen Con 2018

Time moves WAY too quick. We are already home from the Gen Con Film Festival!

For those who don’t know, Gen Con is a massive gaming convention; mainly board-games but with some other games too. At some point, they started running a film festival connected to it. Our incredible master of audio, Joey Mosca, told us about the festival years ago as his films had gotten in for several years in a row. So, this year, we decided to submit both “Yellow Scare” and “Click Send” to the fest and both got in!

We had a great time… The con was a very different, but fun, convention experience for us. The film festival was really cool. The food trucks at the con were amazing. We even got to go to the (surprisingly great) Indianapolis Zoo & the (unsurprisingly unhealthy) Indiana State Fair.

Before any of our films screened, both Isaac & I participated on Gen Con Film Festival Panels.

Isaac appeared on the Pre-Production Panel, while I was on the Screenwriting Panel.

On Friday night, we had a SOLD OUT screening of “Click Send” in the Short Horror Block. The screening went really well, with a fantastic reaction from the audience.

On Saturday afternoon, we had the (not sold out) screening of “Yellow Scare.” The room may not have been packed, but we had even more people in attendance than we did in Fort Worth, and a great reaction from everyone who made it.

And just as quick as everything started, it was over.

But while we were away, we learned that both “Click Send” and “Yellow Scare” were accepted to the Golden Door International Film Festival in Jersey City.

The festival runs from Thursday, September 20th – Sunday, September 23rd. We have been a part of this festival since its inception in 2011, and we are excited and proud to be a part of it once again. It truly is one of favorite festivals to be a part of. As soon as the schedule is announced, we will let you know the whens and wheres.

Beyond that, we have plenty of other festivals that we are waiting to hear back from. Hopefully, there will be a lot more festivals to attend before the end of the year.

Til next time!

The Narrow Bridge Library

A few weeks ago, on a whim, I decided to create a hardcover bound edition of my screenplay “The Haunted Mansion.” I just wanted to have it in a physical form. It came out so nice that I had an idea: Publish the entire Narrow Bridge Films Feature Film screenplay library.

I have no idea if anyone would actually want to buy them, but I figured what the hell? Make them available. People can see where our films start. They can see what was cut between screenplay and the final product. (The “Yellow Scare” screenplay has quite a few bits that sadly didn’t make it into the film.) And it can also give new writers an idea on how to format their own screenplays.

And so, you can now purchase Narrow Bridge Screenplays. You can buy them in 8×10 softcover, or 8.5×11 hardcover.

YELLOW SCARE – COMING LATE 2018

This Week’s Screenings!

We have three screenings this week!

On Friday night at 10:30pm, we have a SOLD OUT screening of “Click Send” as part of the Horror Short Block at Gen Con in Indiana.

On Saturday at 2pm, we have a screening of “Yellow Scare” at Gen Con in Indiana.

On Saturday at 6:15pm we have ANOTHER screening of “Click Send” at the Brightside Tavern Short Film Festival in Jersey City, NJ.

Hope you can make at least one!

“Yellow Scare,” Y’All!

Last week, Billy, Isaac, and I went to Fort Worth, TX for the 2018 Forth Worth Indie Film Showcase. Despite being hot AF (115 F, I think, was the high when we were there), it was a great time. We went to the Fort Worth Zoo, the Stockyards, the 6th Floor Museum in Dallas, some great restaurants… But most importantly: “Yellow Scare” had its Texas debut! We met some cool people, and saw some great (and a few not-so-great) films from artists around the world.

And more than that, we were nominated for FOUR awards (Best Foreign Feature Overall, Best Foreign Feature Comedy, Best Foreign Feature Sci-Fi, and Best Noir), and we WON Best Foreign Feature Sci-Fi.

In case you weren’t aware, the FWIFS considers any film that wasn’t made in Texas a “Foreign” movie… Anything made outside the USA is an “International.”

So, yeah… Our second festival is done, and with another award to boot. That is two festivals down and one award at each festival. Next week, we head out to the Gen Con Film Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana. If you happen to be in the area, stop on by. Our screening is Saturday, August 4th at 2pm. After that? We await more festivals to let us know whether or not we are in.

We also have TWO screenings of our joint venture with Maniac Productions, “Click Send,” directed by Joey Mosca and written by Isaac Platizky. “Click Send” has its world premiere on Friday, August 3rd in the SOLD OUT Horror Short Film Block at Gen Con at 10:30pm. And then on Saturday, August 4th at 6:15pm, “Click Send” will be making its NJ debut at the Brightside Tavern Short Film Festival in their horror block. If you are around, check it out!

And that is it for the now. Here are some pictures from our adventures in TX.
